RPL hosts author Glenn Wills for Alabama bicentennial presentation

In keeping with the Alabama Bicentennial, the Russellville Public Library is continuing its monthly programs featuring local- and state-focused presentations. April 25 Glenn Wills will be coming to RPL to give his Alabama Bicentennial presentation, “200 Years of Forgotten Alabama” at 2 p.m.

“I’m excited to see the updated version of his presentation. I think it’s cool because we’ve all seen abandoned buildings and wondered what happened, and he actually does the research and finds out,” said library director Ashley Cummins.

This isn’t Wills’ first time at RPL. He first visited in March 2018 to share his “Forgotten Alabama” presentation, which is a collection of abandoned and forgotten places in the state of Alabama he has cataloged over the years.

“His last visit was great. It’s such a unique program in that it focuses on the abandoned and dilapidated buildings across the state,” said Cummins.

Wills is working on his third book, which will feature older structures from the early days of Alabama statehood, which also provide the basis for this presentation.
