ICC announces band members

Members of the Itawamba Community College All-American Band for 2018-19 have been selected and were announced last week.

Among them were Red Bay High School alum Maggie Bates. Bates, who graduated in May, was a member of the RBHS marching band for seven years while a student there.

According to the band’s website, the Itawamba Community College All-American Band “is a service organization, representing the College in various public appearances during the year. The band is open to all students with skills in the areas of instrumental music, dance and guard. Scholarships are awarded to full-time students participating in the band program.”

She is the daughter of Steve and Charlotte Bates and plans to major in art while in college.
