John Elmer Nichols

John Elmer Nichols, age 80, Russellville, passed away Nov. 18 at Russellville Hospital.

Mr. Nichols was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force after serving for 36 years.

The visitation was 6-9 p.m. Nov. 20 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. November 21 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Lloyd Griffus officiating. Entombment will be at Winston Memorial Cemetery in the mausoleum following military honors.

He was preceded in death by his father, Seamon Nichols, and mother, Lula (Emerson) Nichols.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 47 plus years, Melba Jean Nichols; children, Becky Pennington and husband Gary and Austin Darling; grandchildren, Michelle Gibson and husband Mike, Tina Voss and husband Sam, Tami Pennington and Rachel Pennington; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Elva Jones, Delmer Nichols and wife Sherry, Jack Hammock and wife Jennie and Joe Hammock and wife Jan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
