Norris Lewey vies for county commission District 4
Norris Lewey is no stranger to the Franklin County Commission. If elected, he brings 12 years of prior experience to the role.
Lewey said he aims “to help the people of Franklin County (and) to improve roads.” He also wants to “work with the industrial board to get more jobs for the people.”
Lewey, who has worked in customer relations at Tiffin Motorhomes for 41 years and is retired from 37 years in the Alabama Army National Guard and a veteran from Iraq, said his experience and “ability to work will with the public” will be key factors in his successfulness as a commissioner. “I will always answer my phone calls, and I will do my best to help the people who elect me,” he said.
His focuses for Franklin County will include better roads and more jobs for the citizens. He said it will take working together with other elected officials to succeed as a commissioner.
Lewey’s favorite thing about Franklin County is the people who live here and their Southern Hospitality.
A member of the Franklin County Cattlemen’s Association and Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Lewey has been married to his wife Brenda for 43 years. They have a daughter, Candi Cantrell, who is married to Stephen, and a son, Brandon Lewey, who is married to Chrissy. They have five grandsons – Aaron, 16, Andrew, 12, Aiden, 10, Josiah C., 10, and Piper C., 6.
Lewey enjoys farming and spending time with his grandchildren.
He will run against Anthony Bentley and Don Hastings for the Democratic nod in the March primary.
