The annual Franklin County Relay for Life event is just around the corner and luminary bags used during the special luminaria ceremony are now available for purchase.

Each year, citizens across Franklin County purchase these luminary bags in honor or in memory of a loved one who has battled cancer.

During the special ceremony, the candles inside of these bags are lit in honor or in memory of the person whose name is written on the outside.

To be part of this special service, purchase your luminary bag today at one of four locations: First Metro Bank in Russellville, CB&S Bank’s main branch in downtown Russellville, Valley State Bank in Littleville, and the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.

White bags are $5 each and gold bags are $25 each. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society through the Franklin County Relay for Life, which will take place Friday, May 2, at the RHS Stadium. Opening ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. The luminaria ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

Come out and be a part of this special event.
