Members of the Franklin County Homemakers recently donated money to three different schools to help students who are taking family and consumer science classes.

Club member Susie Willis said a total of $500 was given to family and consumer science teachers at Phil Campbell, Vina and Red Bay high schools.

The money is earmarked for students who need assistance in paying for classroom materials that are needed for certain projects.

Willis said members held fundraisers such as chicken stew sales, bake sales and yard sales to raise money for special projects like this.

The Franklin County Homemakers consists of three homemakers clubs from Mt. Star, Burnout and Frankfort.
