Popular Christian artist coming to Roxy Theatre

When local businessman Trent Stephenson started thinking about the upcoming holiday season, he said he found himself wishing for a family-friendly event that could bring the community together this Christmas.

After speaking with Mark Allen at local Christian music station 91.3 The FIX, Stephenson said an idea began forming that eventually turned into a holiday event the community won’t want to miss.

The FIX will present popular Christian artist Mark Schultz in his “What Do You Give a King” Christmas tour on Friday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. at the historic Roxy Theatre in downtown Russellville.

Allen said this would be a great event for the whole family to attend.

“Mark is a great artist and we are excited to have him coming to the historic Roxy Theatre in Russellville,” Allen said.

“We have so many loyal listeners from the Russellville and Franklin County area, and we are glad that we can support our local fan base with a concert of this caliber.”

Schultz is a 14-time Dove Award nominee, Dove Award winner, and platinum-selling artist who has touched many people with songs like “He’s My Son”, “Letters From War” and his current album All Things Possible, which features songs like “It is Well”, “I Gave Up”, Love Walked In”, and “Haven’t Met You Yet.”

“I think this is going to be a really great thing for the community, especially right around Christmas time,” Stephenson said.

“Mark Schultz has always been one of my favorite artists. He’s just very real and genuine, and I’m so glad he will be coming to this area.

“I don’t think Russellville has ever had anything quite like this before around the holidays, so I hope everyone will come out for this great event.”

Tickets for the concert are now on sale at Stephenson Electric Service, The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and all branches of Alabama Central Credit Union. Tickets are $25, $20, and $15.

Christmas and holiday greeting ads for local businesses will also be available for $25. These will be displayed on the theatre’s new projection screen before and after the performance.
