Five arrested on meth making charges

Five local residents were arrested on Tuesday afternoon after an investigation by the Franklin County Drug Unit turned up chemicals and other illegal substances used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Stephen Phillip Hobbs, 28, 3410 Newburg Ave., Haleyville, was arrested on charges of first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Marvin Edward Grace, 55, 2922 Franklin 709, Phil Campbell, was arrested for first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Danny O’Neal Gravitt, 57, 339 Kelly St., Phil Campbell, was arrested for first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Larry Steve Gravitt, 64, 1721 13th Ave., Haleyville, was arrested for first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Marvin Walter Grace, 37, 2922 Franklin 79, Phil Campbell, was arrested for first-degree unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver, the Franklin County Drug Unit and investigators with the District Attorneys Office executed a search warrant at 2922 Franklin 79 in Phil Campbell on Tuesday afternoon.
Oliver said officers discovered chemicals used in the manufacture of a meth lab, methamphetamine, marijuana and illegal prescription medication.
Oliver said Hobbs, Larry Gravitt and Danny Gravitt were arrested on the scene. Marvin Edward Grace and Marvin Walter Grace, were located and taken into custody later that afternoon after officers discovered their alleged involvement in the case.
