Red Bay police arrest woman on drug charges

RED BAY – A local woman is in custody after a search warrant executed at her home yielded marijuana and prescription pills.

Shannon Nicole Roberts, 35, 3393 Highway 24, Red Bay, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and first-degree possession of marijuana.

According to Red Bay Police Chief Janna Jackson, the RBPD received information that Roberts was selling marijuana and investigators set up surveillance at her residence.

A search warrant was obtained Tuesday and served around noon the same day, Jackson said.

Officers at the scene discovered marijuana and prescription pills packaged for sale and a list of buyers names was also recovered from the scene.

Jackson added that two small children were present in the home at the time of the arrest and were taken into custody until a hearing can be held to determine where the children will be placed.

Roberts was transferred to the Franklin County Jail where she was held on a probation violation. Bond was set at $17,500.
