James P. Bevins, 63, of Vina, Ala. died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at the Red Bay Hospital.  He was born February 14, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Harold and Lenore Storm Bevins.  He was an employee of Gold Kist for 12 years and he served in the U.S. Air Force.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala. with Bro. James Lumpkin officiating.  Burial will be in Dempsey Cemetery in Russellville, Ala.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bevins, of Vina, Ala.; eight children, Elizabeth Gassaway, of Vina, Ala., Tracy Waldrop and husband, Tim, of  Florence, Ala., James Patrick Bevins and Jillian Bevins, both of Rodford, Ill., Justin Bevins, Jennifer Bevins and Joey Bevins, all of Illinois and Jacob Bevins, Mt. Carmel, Ill.; two sisters, Nora Bevins and husband, Denny and Judy Bevins and husband, Rick, all of Lancaster, Wis.; 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Danny Reed.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
