Tom Rivers Thornton

Tom Rivers Thornton, 68, of Russellville passed away on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at Russellville Hospital.

The visitation will be 2p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel.  Officiating at the service will be Bro. Jim Lumpkin.  Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Thornton; parents, Luther Anderson and Addie Lou Thornton; sons, Kevin David Thornton, Duane Scott Thornton; brothers, Butch Thornton, Jim Thornton; sisters, Bernice Bryant, Betty Ashley, Sue Tyler, and Billie Joe Pounders.

He is survived by his daughter, Melanie King and husband, Robert; grandsons, Brandon Aycock, Dylan Pounders; brother, Johnny Thornton and wife, Kelly; sister, Brenda Thornton; and several nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Brandon Aycock, Dylan Pounders, Jimmy Thornton, Matthew Smith, Mikey Allison, Darby Allison, Justin Thornton, and Trent Daily.  Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Thornton, Trevor Allison, and Ty Daily.
