Thomas Branson Jones, 82, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 following a brief illness.  Mr. Jones was born September 30, 1927 in Tallassee, Ala. and was the only child of Preston and Osie Jones.  Following graduation at Lauderdale County High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until discharged in 1946 following the end of WWII.  After his military service, Mr. Jones attended Auburn University and graduated with a degree in Pharmacy in 1950.  Upon graduation, he embarked on a career that spanned 55 years in retail pharmacy.  During his career he owned and operated Jones Walgreens Drug Store for 21 years in Russellville.  Mr. Jones marred Vera Lucille Lee of Leighton, Ala. in 1951 shortly after graduation from Pharmacy School. His tireless devotion and boundless love for her continued till his last day. 

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Jones, of Auburn, Ala. and Marsha Jones Andrews and husband, Jimmy, of Ashville, Ala.; grandchildren, Caroline and Slater Jones, step-grandsons, Jake and Jared Andrews; and his wife, Vera Lee Jones.

Mr. Jones was buried at Franklin Memorial Gardens with service performed by Dr. Belon on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010.
