Melissa Davidson Humphres, 43, of Red Bay passed away Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at Red Bay Hospital.  She was born Jan. 21, 1967 in Red Bay to Donald and Dorothea Johnson Davidson.  She was a housewife and a member of Vina First Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Aug. 21, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Seth Channell officiating.  Burial was in Atwood Cemetery in Atwood, Ala.

She is survived by two daughters, Whitney Humphres (Craig Rikard) and Kimberly Humphres (Jacob Holland), all of Vina; her husband, Perry Humphres, of Vina; mother, Dorothea Davidson Kinard and husband, Gerald, of Vina; grandmother, Rilla Johnson, of Red Bay; mother-in-law, Ann Humphres, of Russellville; brother-in-law, Keith Humphres, of Red Bay; step-sister, Melissa Mohr, of Phil Campbell; step-brother, Will Kinard, of Phil Campbell; three step-nephews, Jeremy Mohr, Denver Mohr and Harley Kinard; and a host of special cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; and grandparents, Dock Johnson, Junior Davidson and Inez Davidson.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Davidson, Robby Davidson, Harley Davidson, Calvin Channell, Mark Turbyfill and Danny Turbyfill.  Honorary pallbearers were Vina Fire and Rescue Squad and Red Bay Rescue Squad.
