June Killian Clark, 85, of Russellville, Ala., joined the Lord on Friday, July 9, 2010, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-three years, J. Melvin Clark.

What she considered her “greatest accomplishment” was her loving, dedicated family. She is survived by daughters, Beverly Wiginton and husband, Phil, of Florence, Ala., Connie Bush and husband, Flip, of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Kathy Pace, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; her grandchildren, Dawn Hembree, Kira Thomas, Brad Bush, Bart Bush, Matt Wiginton and Todd Wiginton; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Clark resided in Russellville for 60 years and worked for a number of years with her husband at Clark’s Department Store. She was a graduate of Auburn University, attended UAB and was certified as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She was associated with Girl Scouting for 20 years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church since 1949. She was a volunteer with the Cancer Society, Heart and Lung associations, Project Help, Chairman of the March of Dimes, and co-chairman of the Diabetic Trust Fund. She was a member of the Fortnightly Study Club in Russellville, Cultura Garden Club and AAUW.

All who knew her loved and respected her for the lovely lady she was. She will be greatly missed. . especially by her family who adored her. The family would like to express appreciation to North Alabama Hospice, Home Helpers and the doctors and staff at Northwest Alabama Cancer Center.

The memorial celebration will be held Saturday, July 17, at 10 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville, Ala., with Rev. Clint Busler and Rev. Alan Beasley officiating.

Mrs. Clark desired that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to The American Cancer Society in Florence, Ala., or the First United Methodist Church, Russellville, Ala.
