Phillip Williams

Phillip “Pinky” Williams, 50, of Golden, Miss., died Tuesday, March 23, 2010. He was born Aug. 18, 1959 in Red Bay and was self employed as a heavy equipment operator.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill and Bro Coye Marbutt officiating. burial was in the Red Bay City Cemetery.
Mr. Williams is survived by wife, Gwen Williams of Golden, parents, Junior and Gola Funderburk Williams of Golden, sister, Lynda Bostick of Belmont, Miss.; brother, Eric Williams of Red Bay; nieces and nephews, LaShea (Bradley) Williams, Samantha Daniel, Maria Daniel and Nickolas Daniel, all of Iuka, Miss.; and Ryan (Jessica) Bostick and Nathan (Magan) Bostick, all of Belmont; great-nieces and nephew, Maura Nunley and Luke Nunley, both of Iuka, and Calliana Bostick of Belmont.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyce and Ollie Funderburk and Morton and Emma Williams.
Pallbearers for the service included Scotty Hardin, John Holt, Steve Davis, Ryan Bostick, Nathan Bostick, David Wood, Jim Gates, and Fred Bolton.
Bertie Kennerly

Bertie Mae Walker Kennerly, 76, of Russellville, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at her residence.
She was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 29, 2010 at Akin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. JIm Poss officiating. Burial was in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Mrs. Kennerly is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sherry (Charlie) Kennerly; step daughters, Janis Mayes and Rita Oliphant; step sons, Rickey Kennerly, Larry Kennerly and Randy Kennerly; brothers, Hugh (Willie) Walker, Joe (Mary) Walker, and sister-in-law, Maggie Walker; grandchildren, Christi Kennerly, Walker Kennerly; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Donald Ballard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Charlie) Kennerly, and son, Barron Walker Kennerly.
Vernell Gentry

Vernell Gentry, 82, of Red Bay, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at ECM Hosptial. She was born Aug. 11, 1927 in Franklin County to Webster and Nora Bonds McKinney. She was retired as a nurse after 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Red Bay.
Graveside services were held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill officiating.
Ms. Gentry is survived by sister, Charlene Hellums of Muscle Shoals; brothers, Ray McKinney of Cherokee, and Jack McKinney of Belmont, Miss.; and special friend, Junior Boyd of Red Bay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Gentry, her parents, and son, Jerry Hutto.
Pallbearers for the service included Rickey Hellums, Mike Hellums, Billy Bolton, Brad Bolton, Stephen McKinney, and Colton McKinney.

William C. Mitchell

William Charles Mitchell, 71, of Russellville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 26, 2010.
He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a retired truck driver employed by R. D. Owens.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Pinkard Funeral Home with Josh Miller and DeWayne Satterwhite officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery in Colbert County.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Mitchell, of Russellville; children, William Charles Mitchell, Jr. and wife, Melanie, of Russellville, Brenda Lane and husband, Joe, of Russellville, Rodney Mitchell and wife, Dana, of Russellville, Kaye Olive and husband, Charlie, of Tuscumbia; sisters, Eloise Haddock, of Florence, Madeline McAnnally, of Russellville, Margaret Turner, of Anniston, Nell Pounders, of Russellville; grandchildren, Jeremy Lane, Drew Mitchell, Tiffany Mitchell, Korey Mitchell, Casey Mitchell, Chelsea Olive, Katelyn Olive and Breanna Taylor; great-grandchildren, Christian Simon, Kaidence Mitchell and Yazmin Mitchell; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Lane, Drew Mitchell, Korey Mitchell, Chris McAnnally, Bencil Haddock and Darrell Kimbrough.
He was preceded in death by parents, William Lois and Reba Edna Mitchell.
James Hardin

James Haston Hardin “Candy Man”, 78, of Russellville, died March 27, 2010 at his residence. he retired from Reynolds Metal Company after 37 years of service, and he was also a retired farmer. he loved farm life and outdoor equipment. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved his guitar and gospel music, and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Velma Hardin; brother, J. W. Hardin; and sister, Gladys Vinson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jeanette Hardin; sons, Phil (Donna) Hardin; Gary (Renee) Hardin; sisters, Pam (Dennis) Tackett, Tammy (Donny) Holland, Janet (Bill) Beane; sisters, Joyce Mathis, Grace (J.C.) Massey; grandchildren, Kristi (Ronnie) Rose, Scott (Dee-Ann) Hardin, Jamie (Jill) Hardin, Kelley (Mike) Loyd, Hannah Hardin, Patrick Beane, Ashley Beane; great-grandchildren, Bailey Rose, Brittney Rose, Will Loyd, Bella Loyd, Justin Rose, Silas Hardin, Haley Hardin, and a host of nieces and nephews.
