Vernial Lou Willingham Bragwell

Vernie Lou Willingham Bragwell, 63, of Tuscumbia passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m. at Posey Church of Christ with Bro. Guy McDaniel officiating. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bulah and O.W. Willingham; siblings, William E. Willingham, Madrue Mitchell, Williard Smelser, Leo Willingham, Nelson Willingham, Anderson Willingham, Rachel Willingham, Lloyd Willingham; children, Arlin Bragwell and Allan Wayne Bragwell.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Lee Bragwell; children, Angela Kaye Bragwell, Andrea Lynn Scott and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Evan Allan Bragwell, Danika Brei Vaughn, Kayla Lain Bragwell, Zeth Alexander Scott, Destiny Michelle Bragwell; and twenty-five nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Evan Bragwell, Zeth Scott, Kayla Bragwell, Danika Vaughn, Jeff Willingham, and Wade Willingham. Honorary pallbearer will be Destiny Bragwell.
She was a business lady, mother and grandmother who was loved by everyone.
Barbara Orman Barachkov

Barbara Orman Barachkov, 75, of Winfield, Ala. passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Winfield. She was born in Russellville, Ala. on July 18, 1934 to John Edward Orman, Jr. and Susan Love Carter Orman.
The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Barachkov; parents; son, Michael Orman; siblings, John Edward Orman, III, Carson David Orman, Suzanne Orman Hess and Sally Orman Sibley.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Lott and husband, Ronnie, of Winfield, and Sally Chenevert and husband, Chuck, III, of St. Amant, La.; seven grandchildren, Becky Lott, Ronnie Lott, Jr. and wife, Mallory, Don Lott, John Orman and wife, Kayla, Jessica Romans and husband, John, Joshua Orman, and Clarence Shafter Chenevert, VI; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kyle Owens, Kaitlyn and Alex Orman, and Kennedy Romans; and many nieces and nephews.
Charles "Chuck" Harding Hipp

Charles "Chuck" Harding Hipp, 36, of Birmingham, Ala, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010. He graduated from Minor High School class of 1992. He was employed by Mail Enterprises as a computer programmer and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. with burial in Crestview Memorial Gardens with Dr. Steve Potts officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lorraine Grissom and H.J. Hipp.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Hipp; children, Meagan Elise Hipp and Braden Jackson Hipp; parents, Larry and Freda Hipp, of Adamsville; grandparents, Charles Grissom, of Muscle Shoals, Juanita Hipp, of Russellville; and in-laws Dan and Nancy Hicks, of Alliance. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Vincent's Hospital CVICU 5th floor for the special care during his time at the hospital.
Allene S. Fretwell

Allene S. Fretwell, 82, of Russellville, Ala. passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at Burns Nursing Home.
She was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and member of Tharptown Baptist Church. She was employed by Russellville Sportswear for several years.
Funeral service will be Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Bill Thorn officiating. Burial will follow in Tharptown Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include children, Jimmy Fretwell and wife, Pam, of Alabaster; Becky Gober, of Vina, Elaine Lydie and husband, Billy, of Tuscumbia; sisters, Betty Smith Moore, of Trussville, Jo Smith Jackson, of Russellville; grandchildren, Renee' Vandiver, Susan Sheffield, Kesli Smith, Mike Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Amanda Gober, Michelle Uptain, Joseph Uptain; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, W. D. Fretwell; daughter, Diane Wilson; brother, Walter Smith; sisters, Hilda Smith Daily, Callie Smith Connor; grandson, Greg Wilson.
Thanks to the staff at Burns Nursing Home for all their love and kindness.
Brenda Kay Hancock

Brenda Kay Hancock, 56, of Russellville, Ala. passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Birmingham.
She lived most of her life in Franklin County and was a member of Divine Baptist Church in Russellville. While employed at Humana Hospital she touched the lives of many. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 9, 2009, 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Jerry Boyles officiating. Burial will follow in Belgreen Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Roger D. Hancock; children, Christina Seal and husband, Michael, Jimmy Hancock and wife, Vanessa, Tracy Hancock, Michael Hancock and wife, Courtney, all of Russellville; mother, Doris Oliver, of Carlsbad, N.M.; brothers, Danny Oliver, of Valpo, Ind., Carl Wayne Oliver, Carlsbad, N.M.; sisters, Connie Oliver, Valpo, Ind., Ladonna Overturf, Carlsbad, N.M., Debra Arnold, Carlsbad, N.M.; grandchildren, Tiffany and Tabitha Seal, Brooklyn Massey, Braxton Mayfield, Reanna and Tyler Hancock, Addison Hancock.
She was preceded in death by father, Carl Wayne Oliver.
Oscar Copeland Vinson

Oscar Copeland Vinson, 88, of Phil Campbell, Ala. passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at Burns Nursing Home.
He was a native of Franklin County and member of Mt. View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church with Sammy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Julia H. Vinson; daughter, Joan V. Cummings and husband Bill; sister, Gladys Taylor, all of Phil Campbell; sisters-in-law, Edna Pace, Mattie Ross Taylor, both of Russellville; grandchildren, Greg Cummings, Chris Cummings and wife, Nancy; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Vinson was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Ada Vinson; son, Joseph Lamar; brothers, Norman Scott, Cecil Pace, Ray Pace; sister, Louise Pace.
We would like to thank the staff of Burns Nursing Home and Dr. Danny McFall, for their wonderful care.
