Be mindful of where you vent your fuel frustrations
By Staff
Crude oil closed slightly over $127 per barrel Friday. That means any decrease in gas prices isn't likely on the horizon.
As economic times get tougher, people look for ways to vent their frustrations. In the case of gas prices, the people behind the counter often bore the brunt of the storm.
This kind of behavior is needless. The clerks behind the counter can't do anything about it. They have to buy gas, too. Even our local oil distributors can't do anything about it. Jim Sibley and Jim Webb don't have an oil platform in the middle of Gulf of Mexico. They, too, are at the mercy of the major oil companies.
All the boycotts and ill will toward our local owners and operators does nothing but hurt honest business people who are facing the same problems you are.
So, please, have some understanding. Or at least understand that the gas station attendant isn't the one causing global problems.
