Life is still a party, even at 30

Last weekend, my brother, Robert, and his wife, Jennifer, came to visit for Mother's Day.
As soon as they got here, Jennifer talked me into going to a concert in Birmingham with her and an old high school friend.
When we got there, we were sitting near people a lot younger than we were.
As the concert progressed I heard a younger couple talk about their next door neighbors. They talked about how these people still like to party even though they were in their thirties.
That's when it hit me: They think 30 is old.
I had to set the record straight so I turned to the girl and said "Don't you know the thirties are the new twenties?"
She laughed and said that she didn't really think of it like that.
After the concert, I started thinking. It's true. I have had more fun since I have turned 30 than I had in my twenties.
So, I have decided to share with you, our readers, why being in your thirties is way better than your twenties.
We are more established as a person. By the time 30 rolls around, we know who we are, and hopefully, we like ourselves as individuals.
We are mores established in our careers, or at least know what it is we would like to do during our life to earn a living. Some people my search and never find their true calling. To those, number two does not apply.
But, for many of us, we have decided what career path to take, and are well on our journey.
Our baby years are behind us. Unless you were among those who wanted to wait until your career is settled to have a family, having babies at home is well past us.
My youngest will be in kindergarten this year, and I can safely say that the baby years at the Cason House are gone for good.
But, you know what they say "We plan, God laughs."
So maybe he's not laughing too hard about the baby years being over for me.
While these are only three reasons why our thirties are better than our twenties, there are more where those came from.
Honestly, I have enjoyed being out of my twenties even though I would not consider myself a thirty-something just yet since I am only 30.
But, I don't think I am going to care too much about it once I get there.
