Is spring going to spring

By Staff
Melissa Cason
March is here.
Although you'd never really guess it by looking at the weather the past few days, spring is just around the corner. I love spring. About the only thing I don't like about spring are the allergies that it brings.
We have a lot to look forward to this month and in the months to come. I plan to spend a lot of time outside working with my roses and playing with my kids this spring and summer. My boys love to be outside, even more so when we get outside and play with them in the yard and at the park.
My little Cameron loves to ride his four-wheeler in the yard. Thank goodness that he's got a Power Wheels and not the real thing his dad wanted to buy him.
Last summer seemed like such bust because of my broken foot. By the time I was able to walk really well it was getting cold.
But hopefully this year will be different. This year I plan to do all the things that I wanted to do last year but couldn't because of my limitations, starting with frequent trips with my family. Jimmy and I love to visit amusement parks and other family friendly places with our kids. We especially enjoy roller coasters even though our kids are not old enough to ride most of them.
We had actually planned to make our inaugural trip for the season this weekend but the rain and threat of snow kept us home.
Other things that we enjoy include swimming, fishing and golfing. Actually, Jimmy's the one who really likes to golf but he's been trying to get me to try it with him one day.
I am thinking about it.
Tennis is something I have always wanted to learn, and I may try to hit a few tennis balls this summer.
Of all these things I have mentioned, you should have noticed that we always try to include our kids in each activity, but that doesn't mean that we don't venture off to ourselves. I can't wait until we can start doing some of these things.
But, in order for some of these plans to become a reality, it has to get warm. Who wants to fish or swim in the cold? The answer is nobody. As soon as it gets warm, I definitely plan on making up for the lost time from last summer. I hope you have plans with your family and/or significant other and that you can enjoy the warmth when it gets here.
