Willis joins Times as General Manager

By Staff
Russellville native Jonathan Willis has been named General Manager of the Franklin County Times, Classifieds Plus and fct.wpengine.com
Willis graduated from Russellville High School in 1998 and received a bachelor of arts in communication and information sciences from the University of Alabama in 2002 with a major in journalism.
"I'm thrilled Jonathan has chosen to join us here at the Times as he furthers his newspaper career," Times publisher Jason Cannon said. "He will play an important role in the continued growth of our newspaper and our company as a whole."
Willis worked at the Franklin County Times from January 2003 to May 2005.
For the last two and a half years, he has served as bureau chief for the Times Daily's Russellville office.
"I am excited about the opportunity to return to the Franklin County Times in this position. It is a great opportunity to work with the paper that serves my hometown and the community that I grew up in," Willis said.
"I look forward to the challenges ahead of us as we work to bring you a community newspaper that you can be proud of. Franklin County is a wonderful place filled with great schools, churches, businesses and people. It is also a special place to live."
Willis said he shares the commitment to delivering a quality, informative newspaper to local readers three times per week and reached out to the community for their input.
"It is our goal and desire here to deliver a newspaper with news, sports and local features that you can count on with a fresh balanced approach," he said.
"So please, help us better serve you by letting us know what is going
on in our community."
Willis begins his new role Jan. 14. He may be reached at 332-1881, extension 13 or via email at jonathan.willis@fct.wpengine.com.
