Canteen on the brink of new life

The building most know as the Canteen is close to getting new lease on life.
The Russellville city council voted Monday night to apply for a grant to renovate the building that Mayor Johnny Brown said is a valuable piece of local history.
"It's been there for years and years," he said. "I'd just like to see something done with it."
The Canteen's most likely re-birth would be as another gathering or conference place as an alternative to the A.W. Todd Center.
