Former student earns scholarship

Whitney Wilson, formerly of Russellville and a Waterloo High School graduate, recently received an athletic scholarship to Calhoun Community College.
Wilson, of Florence, was a member of three state champion softball teams at Waterloo. She was also involved in basketball, cheerleading, National Honor Roll, Peers for Life, theatre and Student Council. She served as SADD secretary as a senior, and was nominated for the Wendy's Heisman Athletic Award.
Wilson is the daughter of Amy Wilson, of Florence, and she will double major in business and criminal justice and minor in journalism.
