Tamara Furman Barker

Tamara Furman Barker, age 71, of Vina, died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at her residence. She was born May 7, 1936 in Kenosha, WI to Joseph and Helen Navoiczk Furman.
She was a homemaker and was retired from Golden Manufacturing. She was a member of Red Bay Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Barker, her parents, and one brother, Leon Furman. The family wishes to thank Dr. Norman and staff, Keller Community Hospice and members of Red Bay Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 26 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Turner Paseur officiating the service.
Burial was in the Sparks Chapel cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Kenny Sparks, Jamie Miller, Jerry Furman, Donald Thrasher, Kerry Thrasher, Michael Barker, Timmy Humphres and Anthony Hardin.
She was survived by four children, Judy Austin of Tallahassee, Fla., Ronald Barker, Ross Barker, Jr. and John Barker, all of Vina; three grandchildren, Stephen and Jennifer Austin, both of Tuscaloosa, and Katie Austin of Tallahassee.
Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay assisted the family.
Icie Mitchell Liles

Icie Mitchell Liles, 91, of Red Bay, died Saturday, June 23, 2007 in Golden, Miss. She was born September 17, 1915 in Franklin County to Vester and Carie Ezzell Mitchell. She was retired from Blue Bell and also worked for Southern Rural Health. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband, Jessie Edward Liles; her parents; and infant daughter; two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 25, 2007 at Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Wood officiating the service. Burial was in the Pleasant Site Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews: Doug Liles, Jr., Sean Liles, Jason Pendergraph, Derek Cleveland, Harold Strickland, and Edwin Mitchell.
She was survived by two sons, Gary Liles and Doug Liles and wife, Sylvia, all of Red Bay; two sisters, Pauline Strickland of Red Bay, and Eula Jean Puckett of Cherokee; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Charles V. McAlister
June 23, 2007
Charles V. McAlister, age 80, of Russellville, died Saturday, June 23, 2007. He was survived by wife, Ruth McAlister of Russellville; stepsons, Bobby Leopard and wife, Angela, of Russellville; and stepdaughters, Linda Madden and husband, Wayne; sisters, Catherine Hill and husband, Henry, of Brewton, Ala., Earlene Page of Akron, Ohio; sister in law, Mayne McAlister; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Gertrude McAlister; first wife, Eva Dale McAlister; and brothers, Otis McAlister, Lano McAlister and Buel McAlister.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 25, 2007 at Akin's Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Prince and Bro. A. H. Akins. Burial was in the Franklin Memorial Gardens.
Akin's Funeral Home of Russellville assisted the family.
