The Franklin County Grand Jury found probable cause for a trial for a suspect on an attempted sodomy charge in connection with an incident that took place back in January.
Jerry Lee Morgan, 59, 4534 Franklin 56, Russellville, was indicted on charges of 2nd degree sodomy after trying to engage in a sexual act with a minor, Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said.
Morgan was arrested in February and was charged with trying to engage in a sexual act with a minor.
"Mr. Morgan admitted that he had in fact attempted to have sexual contact with a 15 year old boy," Plott said.
Morgan was living with friends at the time that the alleged incident occurred back in early January of 2007.
The indictment alleges that Morgan propositioned a 15-year-old victim for sexual contact, but did not actually have sexual contact with the boy. The charge is a class C felony, which is punishable by 1-10 years in prison if he is convicted.
