The Franklin Social and Civil Club will host their 15th annual Funfest tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m. at the Chuckie Mullins Center.
The event is designed to teach kids how to make the right decisions, and to give Russellville's youth a positive outlet, event organizer Robert Hillman said.
The event is geared toward children from the age of one to 16. There will be activities such as slides and games. The Air Evac helicopter will be on hand to provide information about their services as well, Hillman added.
In addition to the games and activities, guest speakers talk to the children and their families about making positive decisions.
"We have various speakers at the event to teach the kids about making good decisions," Hillman said.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott, District Attorney Joey Rushing, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett, and Bill Jackson are among those expected to attend the event.
Hillman said that he formed the club because he was concerned about the young people in our community.
"Today's youth don't have anyone to talk to about their problems, and we want to build relationships with these kids so that they don't get into trouble," Hillman said.
The event is funded solely through the donations from the residents of Russellville and Franklin County, Hillman said.
Everyone is encouraged to attend this year's Funfest.
