Mary Jane Hollingsworth Morris
April 23, 2007
Mary Jane Hollingsworth Morris, 96, Hubbertville, died April 23, 2007 at Lakeland Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held April 25, 2007 at Berea Church of Christ in Hubbertville. Bro. James Wyers officiated. Burial followed in Berea Church of Christ Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Morris; a grandson, Jeffrey R. Cunningham; parents, John and Sarah Hollingsworth; and 3 siblings.
She is survived by daughters, Saundra Morris Rushing (Don), of Haleyville, and Shirley Morris Cunningham (Fred) of Decatur; grandchildren, Marla Renee Tucker, William Kelly Rushing, and Jason Kyle Rushing; and 7 great grandchildren.
She was a schoolteacher before starting her family. She was an excellent homemaker, and a member of Berea Church of Christ in Hubbertville.
Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville assisted the family.
Ida Mae Malone, 91, of Muscle Shoals, died April 23, 2007.
Funeral services were held April 25 at Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville. Bro. Don McGuire officiated. Burial followed in Franklin Memory Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Leona McMurray; her husband, Clifton Malone; husband, Coy Hodge; step-son, Kenneth Hodge; 5 brothers; 2 infant brothers; and 4 sisters.
Survivors include 2 stepdaughters, Pam Wellman (Jack) of St. Joseph, Tennessee, and Joyce Hendricks (Willie) of Tuscumbia; special nephew, Bill Thorn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a native of Franklin County and was a member of Frankfort Road Church of Christ.

Brenda Kay Kirk
April 25, 2007
Brenda Kay Kirk, 54, of Tuscumbia, died April 25, 2007.
Visitation will be held April 27, 2007 from 12-1 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral will be held April 27, 2007 at 1 p.m. at New Bethel Church. Bro. Greg Beasley and Bro. Eddie Wix will officiate. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Brown Stevenson; her son, Roger Dale Kirk Jr.; her brother, Billy Eugene Stevenson; and her infant brother, Billy Ray Stevenson Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Roger Dale Kirk. of Tuscumbia; a son, Tim Kirk, of Tuscumbia; daughter-in-law Pam Kirk, of Tuscumbia; father, Billy Ray Stevenson, of Cherokee; sisters, Mary Beth Sines, of Jefferson, Ohio, and Norma Jean Horner, of Austinville, Ohio; 6 granchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
Larry P. Sparks
April 25, 2007
Larry P. Sparks, 71, of Russellville, died April 25, 2007.
Visitation will be today at 6-8 pm. at Akins Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday April 28 at 2 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mark Trammell will officiate. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded by his parents Percy and Polly Sparks.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years Dot Sparks, of Russellville; sons, Mac Sparks (Jenny) of Kimberly, and Jeff Hutcheson (Tammy) of Spruce Pine; daughters, Christy Vanpaddon, of Buffalo, New York, and LeResa Trammell (Mark) of Southside; brothers, Chris Sparks (Patsy), of Russellville grandchildren, Carley Sparks, Jillian Sparks, Mia Hutcheson, Nick Trammell, and Donavan Vanpaddon; and several nieces and nephews.
Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
