PC rolls in win over Red Bay

PHIL CAMPBELL – The Phil Campbell (15-17) varsity baseball team improved their area record to 3-0 with a 12-2 victory over the Red Bay Tigers Monday afternoon.
The game was scoreless until the 4th inning when when Dylan Hamby swept the bases clean with one 4 RBI swing of the bat, making the score 4-0.
The Bobcats continued their domination of the Tigers with two more scored by Korey Pounders and Seth Brown, bringing the score to 6-0 at the end of the fourth inning.
The game would remain scoreless for the Tigers until late in the sixth inning, with one run each scored by Morgan Stanfield and Stephen Prestage.
Phil Campbell cemented their victory by scoring six unanswered runs in the sixth inning of the game.
Jonathan Dill and Caleb Thompson each had two hits for the Bobcats.
Adam Mitchell pitched all six innings for Phil Campbell and struck out seven to earn the win, his second of the season.
