PHIL CAMPBELL – Phil Campbell Elementary's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is collecting water bottle labels to earn new activity equipment for the school.
The PTO needs 12,500 Nestle Pure Life labels that they will be able to turn in for new activity equipment like sports balls, jump ropes and other playground activities, PTO president Martha Liendecker said.
"We will get two points per label, and we need help from parents and our community in order to meet our goal," Liendecker said.
The school's package requires 25,000 points. Labels can be sent to the school with students, or be dropped off at either Phil Campbell Little League Field or the Piggly Wiggly in Phil Campbell, Liendecker added.
"We are having a contest to see who brings the most labels to school," Liendecker said.
The boy and girl with the most labels will receive their choice of a basketball or a football, Liendecker said.
The deadline for the collection is May 31. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the collection to help the school, Liendecker asked.
