Russellville High School has a rich tradition in both athletics and academics, and now anyone who wishes can be a part of it forever.
RHS football coach and athletic director Perry Swindall said that the school is starting a "Wall of Fame" that begins in front of the field house and stretches to the home side of the football stadium.
Interested persons can purchase plaques and have them placed on the Wall of Fame for themselves or in someone else's honor, if they so desire.
Large plaques can be purchased for $150, and small plaques are available for $75.
"This is a great way for followers and supporters of Russellville High School to be a part of something that's obviously very important to them," Swindall said. "They can really invest in something that will be longstanding."
Swindall said he plans to purchase plaques honoring each of his sons, who both are student-athletes in the Russellville school system.
"This isn't just something for people who are involved in sports," he said. "This is available to anyone associated with Russellville High School, be it through the band, a cheerleading squad, or something else."
A few businesses have already purchased plaques, and they have been placed on the Wall of Fame.
