Coaching staff stable at Newton

NEWTON Take away one football coach and the overall athletic staff at Newton High School is exactly as it was a year ago.
Maxie had been an assistant at Sebastopol from 1998-2000 before coming to Newton.
Assisting Posey will be Bill Murphy, Trent Hanna, and Mark Girard.
Crandal Porter returns as both boys and girls basketball coach with Cory Cleveland back as his assistant.
Luke Gibbon is the head coach in both baseball and slow-pitch softball. Assisting Gibbon in baseball is Hanna, while Porter is his assistant in softball.
Ed McGowan will return as both cross country and track coach for both boys and girls.
Cleveland will coach tennis, while Murphy will coach golf. Murphy will also be the powerlifting coach.
Newton Superintendent Dr. Myna Bryan is the athletics director.
