There's only one goal left for the Choctaw Central Lady Warriors to strive for an undefeated season.
And that's exactly what this year's team hopes to accomplish.
Last season, the Lady Warriors went 36-2, won the Class 3A state championship and were named the No. 1 team in the state by The Clarion-Ledger. The Lady Warriors enter this season as the No. 1 team in Mississippi.
Leading the Lady Warriors returning starters is Chantay Frazier.
Other returning starters are Mystee Dale and Shyatesa York. Ria Willis, Kelly Willis and Kristi Willis each drew starts at various times.
Also on the roster are Kristen Steve, Deonna Isaac, Siah Denson, Shelia Willis, Ahinah Alex, Casey Vaughn, April Bell and Zenetta Williams.
The Lady Cougars compete in Division 5-3A with Carthage, Forest, Morton, Newton County, Southeast Lauderdale, and West Lauderdale.

Philadelphia
The Lady Tornadoes of Philadelphia had one of their better basketball seasons in school history last year, as they went 28-6 and reached the Class 2A State Tournament. Philadelphia dropped a 70-67 double-overtime heartbreaker to Baldwyn in the first round.
Head coach Jason Gentry returns two starters from that team juniors Shenique Brass and Natonya McWilliams.
Also on the roster are Tiara Logan, Irecy Bowden, Danielle Cole, Shanese Hunter, Katy McClenahan, Jafreeia Malone, Porsche Morgan, Erin Breland, Alicia Goodin, Meagan Martin, Kelly Dansby, Alli Parsons and Tiffon Moore.
Logan, Cole and Hunter are expected to draw starting roles.

Newton
If Crandal Porter is smiling a lot these days, it's with good reason.
The Newton girls' basketball coach is expecting big things this year and apparently has the team to back it up.
Returning as all-division players from last year are senior post Karmarshea Jones and senior power forward Jessica Anderson, along with junior point guard Chotsani Henderson and junior small forward Whitney Thames.
Completing the roster are Victoria Moore, Jazzlyn Wheeler, Dominique Murrell, Kim Caraway, Jessica Wash, Nicole Williams, Eareta Daren, Tawayatha Evans, Katera Evans, Sasha Curry, Shea Nichols, Shereka Evans, Leslie Thompson, Deonna Blalock, Tiara Buckley and Asia Tingle.
