Foster, Young

Tonya Young and Henry "Slim" Foster, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, April, 24, 2004, at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie R. Clark officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Young of Detroit, and Edna R. May of Hartford, Conn.
Grandparents of the bride are Ester Walker of Meridian, the late Charlie C. Young, Alberta Brooks of St. Louis, the late Ruthford Gordon of Los Angeles
Grandparent of the bridegroom is the late Tom Searight of Hartford.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Felicia Boyd and Patricia Earnest, vocalists; and Shelia Walker, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Ricky Young. She wore a designer gown with an off-the-shoulder and V-shaped neckline. The bodice was embellished with pearls and silver designed embroidery. Her skirt extended into a chapel-length train that was enhanced with sequins. She wore a satin veil that was anchored by a heart-shaped tiara and carried a bouquet of wild flowers.
Carolyn Young of Detroit, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Latisha Brown of Meridian served as matron of honor.
Other attendants were Mekia Young, Pam Littleton and LaTonya Cook, all of Meridian.
Jamilya Brunner of Meridian, daughter of the bride, and Kia Davis of Meridian were flower girls.
Terry May of Meridian and Tyrone May of Hartford served as best men.
Groomsmen and ushers were Kendall May, Tom May and Jerome May, all of Hartford, James White and Tony Ellis of Meridian.
D'Andre Young of Meridian, son of the bride, was ring bearer.
Program attendant was Stephanie Hurst of Detroit and the bell ringer was K-Brion Young of Quitman.
A reception was held at Howard Johnson following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Sandra Smith, Louise Burns, Sandra Jones and staff of Howard Johnson.
After a honeymoon in Natchez, the couple resides in Meridian.
