Umfress continued his stellar play this season by rushing for 162 yards on 27 carries and scoring all four of the Red Devils' touchdowns in Friday's 24-0 victory over region opponent Speake.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound senior had touchdown runs of 19 and 29 yards and also scored on receptions of 26 and 15 yards. Entering this Thursday's critical region showdown with Shoals Christian, Umfress ranks among the area's leading rushers with 763 yards and nine touchdowns on 110 attempts, an average of 6.9 yards per carry. He also has caught three touchdown passes on the year.
