National Public Lands Day

Lauderdale County observed its eighth annual National Public Lands Day Saturday at Okatibbee Lake. The event was hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Keep America Beautiful of Meridian/Lauderdale County. Volunteers worked on a number of projects litter and trash removal from roadsides, wildlife food plot planting, fish shelter construction, bird box construction/maintenance and ornamental tree planting.
