Cristie Lee Green of Meridian and Justin Michael Rives of Madison were married on Saturday, June 19, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Meridian with the Rev. David Bishop officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James Willard Green of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Herrington Rives of Madison.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Neal, the late Willard Brown Green and the late Mr. and Mrs. Miller Deweese, all of Philadelphia.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilbanks of Corinth and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rives of Madison.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Miriam Chesney, organist, and Barry Germany, pianist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal A-line gown of white Italian satin, featuring a chapel-length train. Her veil was of silk illusion with hand-rolled piped edging, anchored by a crystal and pearl tiara. She carried a bouquet of white and peach colored roses, wax flowers and stephanotis.
Nina Elizabeth Simmons of Newton served as maid of honor. Other attendants were Augusta Carol Holloway of Meridian, Holly Catherine McLaurin of Savannah, Ga., Candace Ashley Killens of Philadelphia, Jenny Dixon Goss of Memphis, Tenn., Stacey Lynn Norwood of Cordova, Tenn., and Cara Sheeler Wright of Flowood.
Jay Herrington Rives of Madison served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Jonathan August Sims of Grenada, Marshall Norris Polson of Ridgeland, Darin Lee Jones of Madison, Wilson Bartel Wise of Hattiesburg, and Alan Joseph Wright and Christopher Adam Frazier, both of Flowood.
Abigail Louise Wilbanks of Clinton served as flower girl.
Jed Green of Meridian served as ring bearer.
Honorary bridesmen were Joseph Glazar, Brooks Hooper, Jeremy Litton, Jim Machamer, Daniel Peavey and Dell Smith, all of Meridian.
Program attendants were Carrie Jones and Alana Jones.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in St. Croix, the couple resides in Jackson, where the bride attends the University of Mississippi Dental School and the bridegroom is employed by Ridgeland High School art department.
