A fund-raiser for 6-month-old Blane and Dylan Allen will be held this weekend at Hotel &Restaurant Supply, 2215 Old Marion Road, to help pay their ongoing medical expenses.
The twins, born prematurely Feb. 11, are the sons of Brandy and Chad Allen.
According to the parents, Blane weighed 1 pound, 3 ounces and Dylan weighed 1 pound 2 ounces at birth. And at 22 weeks and 6 days, they spent four months in the neonatal intensive care unit at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.
Although the twins are doing better now Blane now weighs 11 pounds and Dylan weighs more than 9 pounds they have battled some illnesses and other health problems.
A silent auction, raffle and baked goods and crafts sale will be held Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon at Hotel &Restaurant Supply with proceeds going toward medical bills and expenses for the twins.
Jackie Sharp, one of the organizers of the fund-raiser, said the raffle will include gift baskets, free meals, gasoline, gift certificates and other items.
She also said one of the silent-bid auction items is a St. Louis Rams jersey signed by Dexter McCleon.
Monetary donations also may be made through an account at Citizens National Bank. For more information, call Jackie Sharp at 632-1698.
