PHILADELPHIA Services for Otha Savell will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service chapel with the Revs. Curt Pace and Chris Vowell officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Savell, 74, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at Neshoba County General Hospital.
Survivors include his wife Maggie Savell of Philadelphia; sons, Raymon Dale Savell of Ocean Springs, Tony Michael Savell and David Kimble Savell, both of Philadelphia, and Dalton Oliver Savell of Carthage; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Georgia Bell Chunn of Moss Point and Ollie B. Lacey of Philadelphia; and a brother, Oliver Austin Savell Jr. of Philadelphia.
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Henry Johnson will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Branch Church of God with the Revs. Lester Pope, Chad Adams and Fred Wiley officiating. Burial will be in Barrytown Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson, 89, of Gilbertown, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. He was a logger and a road grader, and was retired from the Choctaw County Road Crew.
Survivors include his daughters, Betty Ann Jacobs and her husband, Robert, and Brenda Taylor and her husband, Dickie, all of Gilbertown; sons, Jimmy Johnson and his wife, Louise, Earl Johnson and his wife, Doris, all of Gilbertown, and James Johnson and his wife, Debra, of Silas; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sadie Clark; brothers, Cecil Johnson and Grady Johnson, all of Gilbertown, and G.H. Johnson of Mobile.
Pallbearers will be Lindy Long, Randall Jacobs, Scottie Johnson, Steve Johnson, Paul Johnson and Ronald Jacobs.
UNION Services for Joyce K. "J.K." Thomas will be held today at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Gil Allan, Bill Webb and Richie Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thomas, 74, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He served in the Korean War. He retired after 33 years with Texaco Inc., and he worked in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. He returned to the House Community in Neshoba County in 1992. He was a member and deacon of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he worked and served in different areas of the church as long as his health permitted.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pauline Bates Thomas of Union; a brother, Joe Thomas and his wife, Johnnie, of Clinton; a special brother-in-law, Billy Joyner and his wife, Audine, of House; a sister-in-law, Sue Nell Bates of Philadelphia; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.K. and Minnie Lou Thomas; brothers, Durwood Thomas and Jack Thomas; and a sister, Virginia Bishop.
Pallbearers will be Bill Bates, Jimmy Bates, Mike Joyner, Mike Thomas, Phil Hilderbrand and Steve Winstead.
BAY SPRINGS Services for Thomas Albert Finnegan will be held Monday at 10 a.m. St. Michael's Church with the Revs. Richard Smith, Remigus Kozak and Deacon Martin Finnegan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Finnegan, 90, of Rose Hill, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs. He was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Paulding, and was a lifelong resident of Rose Hill.
Survivors include his sisters, Velma Boswell of Rose Hill, Sister Teresa Finnegan of Vicksburg and Martha Burns of Hattiesburg; and brothers, Herman Finnegan of Rose Hill and Pat Finnegan of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Finnegan and Johanna O'Flynn Finnegan; brothers, John A. Finnegan, William J. Finnegan, Roy A. Finnegan, Charlie Finnegan, Lawrence Finnegan and Joseph Finnegan, and sisters, Marguerite Finnegan and Melanie Finnegan.
Pallbearers will be Joe Boswell, Neil Burns, Kevin Burns, Charles Finnegan, Ronnie Finnegan and Dan Gorgas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. A.K. Lay Sr., Dr. Keith Lay and members of the nursing service and other staff at Jasper County Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
