Services for Jack D. Smith will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Tommy Jones and Davy Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith, 77, of Meridian, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and he was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He retired from the Chevron Oil Co. He was a member of West Kemper Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Smith of Meridian; children, Mary S. Harper and her husband, John, and Jack D. Smith Jr. and his wife, Dana; step-children, Barbara Staniscavage and her husband, Terry, all of Meridian, Mike Harper and his wife, Martha, of DeKalb, and Lynn Fontan and her husband, Joe, of Causeyville; six grandchildren, Mikie Chaney, Christy Harper, Bryan Smith, Haley Smith, April Harper and Ben Smith; six step-grandchildren, Carol Mowdy, Tammy Kirkland, Jason Fontan, Brad Hardy, Travis Hardy and Angela Young; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Smith; a daughter, Faye Chaney; and a son, Ray P. Smith.
Pallbearers will be the Navy Honor Guard.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Marilyn B. Allen will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Elvin Sunds officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Allen died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, after a long illness. She was a wonderful mother, step-mother, sister and friend. She was a precious gem to all who loved and knew her. She was affectionately known as "Mamie," by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Roosevelt Allen III and Dawn Boggs Williams and her husband, Joseph, all of Milwaukee, Tonya Rene Allen, Antonio Allen and Wanda Boggs Caldwell and her husband, Jerry, all of Charlotte, N.C., Andr Boggs Davis and her husband, Bradford, of Meridian, Shirley Ann McDonald of Waynesboro and Angela Lynn Allen of Moss Point; and several other family members, friends and loved ones.
Donations may be made to the Hospitality Committee at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church followed by a prayer service.
Services for Dannie M. Rowe will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Timothy Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Berry &Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rowe, 88, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include a daughter, Annie L. Norwood and her husband, Samuel, of Monticello; sisters, Delia Thornton of Rock Island, Ill., Julia Agee of Atlanta; Lillian Boyd of Pensacola, Fla. and Ulmarie Gaines of Saginaw, Mich.; and a brother, Fred Chaney of Atlanta.
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry &Gardner Funeral Home for Woodrow Jenkins, 69, of Porterville, who died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, in his home.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Eloise Fagan, 75, of Meridian, who died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, in her home.
