Musicals, a puppet theatre and a performance by an elite group of gymnasts, jugglers, cyclists and tumblers from the People's Republic of China are in store during the Arts &Letters Series' 2004-05 season.
Presented by Meridian Community College, the series broadens educational and cultural experiences, not only for the campus but also the community.
Several presentations are back by popular demand, while others are newcomers. All are sure to please audiences, Thames said.
Thames also expects "A Tribute to Lewis Grizzard" to be an audience favorite.
And The Peking Acrobats, another favorite with local audiences, is always well received, Thames said.
With so many great offerings, it will be difficult to decide which to attend. However, Thames has a viable solution to this "dilemma."
Here's the 2004-05 schedule.
Sept. 17, 7 p.m.
McCain Theater, Ivy Hall
Admission: Adults, $7; children, $3
This musical adaptation based on Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass" has enchanted audiences of all ages. It is full of witty dialogue, clever songs, fast-paced action and the enchanting characters that live in the magical world of "Wonderland." This musical and its unusual, fresh and exciting score is ideal for young audiences and a lot of fun for adults, too.
