50 Plus Club
The 50 Plus Club of Lauderdale met July 13 at the Lauderdale United Methodist Church for its regular monthly meeting. Seven members were present.
Dr. Tom Lawrence introduced the guest speaker, Margaret "Sis" Clarke, a well-known speaker on the Bible and its teachings. She, her husband and her son are residents of Lauderdale.
Clark talked about the coming of Christ and the church age we are going through now. She talked of the seven years of tribulation coming to this earth.
She said that things that we all are experiencing will be nothing compared to what is coming according to the Bible.
She talked of her trip to Jerusalem and the things she saw as she read the Bible. Everyone enjoyed her talk and invited her back to continue this subject.
A lunch was served of fresh vegetables from the members' gardens.
The next meeting will be Aug. 10.

Causeyville Community Development Club
The regular meeting of Causeyville Community Development Club was recently held in the form of a social.
The meeting was called to order by President Lynn Culpepper. Billy Ray Downey led the members in prayer, and the devotional was given by Barbara Downey, using Psalm 139:1-10.
The minutes from the last meeting were read and approved. It was discussed and plans were made for a clean up at the club. Members decided Culpepper will have the entrance gate repaired.
The Yard of the Month was awarded to Joann and Lynn Culpepper.
After the short business meeting, an ice cream and cake dinner was enjoyed by all. The next meeting will be Tuesday.

Collinsville Community Club
The Collinsville Community Club met under the covered pavilion for its annual family picnic. Members enjoyed all the usual picnic foods and several flavors of homemade ice cream as the dessert.
President Judy Harwell welcomed everyone and read a poem entitled "I Am Your Flag" for the devotion.
Yard of the Month was awarded to Jim and Martha Miller; second place went to Shirley Griffen; and third place went to Dewayne and Imogene Joyner.
A letter from the American Cancer Society requesting help with its campaign to create a smoke-free environment was read. The members voted to join the campaign.
It was announced that the next meeting will be Aug. 16 at the club building.

Northeast Community Club
The Northeast Community Club met for its July meeting at the clubhouse with a bingo game and an ice cream and cake supper for senior citizens.
The Rev. Joe Loften led a devotion from the book of John, Chapter 4. This chapter is the account of the Samaritan woman who came to Jacob's well and found Jesus resting there.
Tohy Tisdale presented a brief recreational game for the group on "How people of the past received their surnames." Tisdale related to the vocations and types of work that people did, and members guessed their last names.
John Satcher reminded members that Ward Calhoun with the Meridian Archives and History will present the program at the Aug. 16 meeting.
