The following students from Lauderdale County were recently named to the president's list, dean's list and the director's list at East Mississippi Community College, Scooba campus.
Those named to the president's list were: Lance Coker Burham, Anna V. Deviney, Matthew Downing, Christina M. Evans, Emily Michelle Hardy, John Raymond Iverson, Ruby D. McDonald, Edward Jermaine McWilliams, William Scott Moseley, Audrey Marie Waldrop and Jeremy T. Wright.
Those named to the dean's list were: Tina Louise Burroughs, Yolanda Michelle Glass, Leslie Ellen Boling, Dennexx L. Leavell, Ruben Moore and Amber Nicole Joyner.
Those named to the director's list were: Robert L. Carlisle, Anthony Clark Cox and Frank Briant Douglas.
Others named to the president's list were: Joshua Kirby Miller, Ronald Wayne Adkins, Mary Kelly Englehardt, James Bernard Markham, Henry Leon McGill and Dawlat Z. Velastegui.
Amber Tyson, a senior at Newton County High School, received the $1,000 Newton County Ole Miss Alumni Scholarship at the recent Academic Awards Night. Tyson was Valedictorian at NCHS.
Rudi McDonald of Meridian, a student in the Funeral Service Technology program at East Mississippi Community College, was recently inducted into the Eta Upsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at ceremonies held on the Scooba campus.
McDonald is associated with Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home in Meridian.
Frank Douglas of Meridian was among 25 Funeral Technology students who participated in graduation ceremonies recently on the campus of East Mississippi Community College in Scooba.
After completing a one-year residency as a Funeral Service Trainee, and successfully taking the National Board Examination, Douglas will be eligible for licenser as an embalmer and funeral director in the state of Mississippi.
Douglas is currently serving his residency with James F. Webb Funeral Home in Meridian.
Jennifer Brooke Cody of Meridian recently was a recipient of the Hannah M. Basley Award at Magnolia Middle School. This award is given to an outstanding seventh-grade girl who excels academically and who exhibits citizenship and leadership qualities. Cody also received the principal's award for having the highest overall grade point average in seventh grade.
She is the daughter of Clayton and Lisa Cody.
