Tre-cutting accident

This house at 4304 33rd Place sustained major damage Monday afternoon when it was struck by a falling tree. The house is owned by Steve and Bob Corey, who rent it to Eulunda Maxwell. "The property owner next door had hired a crew to chop down a dead tree," Steve Corey said. "This happened when they were cutting a live tree to get to the dead one." Corey said the tree-cutters had asked Maxwell to step outside during the operation, and she was not inside when the tree fell. Corey is meeting with contractors today to see if the damage can be repaired, and is putting his tenant up in lodgings in the meantime.
