NAACP holds rally to remember
historic desegregation case

The local chapter of the NAACP hosts a noon rally today at Dumont Plaza in downtown Meridian to honor the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education.
Meridian School Superintendent Sylvia Autry and Lauderdale County School Superintendent David Little will be among the guest speakers.
On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court ruled against "separate but equal" schools, marking the beginning of integration in the public school system.
