UNION Services for William Andrew "Dubb" McMahen Jr. will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Union City Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McMahen, 89, of Union, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice in Meridian. He joined Union United Methodist Church in 1929, and has been a faithful servant. He was on the board of Alderman for the town of Union for 20 years. He was a World War II Army veteran, where he served as a staff sergeant. He served in England, France and the Philippines before sailing home on the Georgetown. He was a member of the Union Golf Club. Before suffering a stroke in 1987, he greatly enjoyed playing golf.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Luke McMahen of Union; daughter, Melinda McMahen Hunter of Columbus, Ga.; sons, William Andrew McMahen III and his wife, Rita, of Jackson, Stephen Luke McMahen and his wife, Sandra, of Carthage and Michael R. McMahen and his wife, Susan, of Union; seven grandchildren, Neil Hunter and his wife, Jennifer, of Columbus, Daniel McMahen Hunter and his wife, Niki, of West Hartford, Conn., William Andrew McMahen IV and his wife, Liza, of Arden, N.C., Luke McMahen and Jessica McMahen, both of Carthage, Grace McMahen of Union, Bill Bailey of Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Jessika Knight and Cole Knight of Columbus, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. W.A. McMahen Sr. and Cora Nicholson McMahen; a son-in-law, Dr. Stephen Hunter; and three sisters, Alatha McMahen Brown, Arwin McMahen Corder and Coralynn McMahen Luke Richards.
The family requests memorials be made to Union United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 316, Union, MS 39365.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Edith P. Calhoun will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Charles E. Stephens Funeral Home chapel, with Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Calhoun, 84, of Meridian, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her sons, Ward Calhoun Jr. and his wife, Ella Lea Mosby Calhoun of Meridian and Larry M. Calhoun and his wife, Janet, of Sulphur, La.; three grandchildren, Ward Calhoun III and John Calhoun, both of Meridian, and Jeremy Willis of West Lake, La. and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Calhoun Sr.
Pallbearers will be Ward Calhoun III, John Calhoun, George Hayes, Billy Blaine, George McLean and Andrew Calhoun.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Briggs and Heyward Dillard.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
