July 10 The 1974 class reunion for Meridian High School will be at 7 p.m. at Briarwood Country Club. MHS class members would like to invite the classes of 1974 from Lamar, Whynot and Jeff Davis to the reunion. Cost is $35 per person if paid by May 15 and $45 person after that date. July 16-18 The descendants of Richard and Julie Shanks and the children of Ruby and Viola Edwards will hold a reunion at Archusa Water Park in Quitman. Cost is $60 for married families and $30 for singles. Senior citizens 70 years and older are free. A memory book will be available for an extra $10. The deadline to turn in money is May 17. Aug. 24-28 The USS Saint Paul (CA-73) and the USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul (SSN-708) Association will hold its 11th reunion in Boston, Mass. The organization is trying to contact former crew members. Upcoming Northeast Lauderdale High School Class of 1979 is planning its 25-year reunion. A reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres be at the Holiday Inn on May 22 or June 5. An invitation will be mailed around April 1 once we have comments from classmates and deposit monies to work with. Cost is $25 per person or $50 per couple. The school also will offer a tour that afternoon for those who have not seen recent changes. A $15 registration deposit is requested so deposits can be made. Any fee paid in advance will be deducted at the door from the total admission.
