Causeyville Raceway plans donation to cancer patient

A friend in times of need is a friend indeed.
Randy and Trish Rawson, owners of the Causeyville Raceway go-kart track, are taking that saying a step further than most by dedicating all proceeds from Saturday's races to cancer patient Tiffany Moulds Kidd of Enterprise.
Kidd, 21, is battling Osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. She and her husband, Keith, are the parents of two boys. A former standout athlete at Enterprise High School, she is currently being treated by St. Jude's Hospital of Memphis and faces surgery in the near future.
The gates will open at 9 a.m. Saturday and the plates will be served beginning at 11 a.m. There will be a bike race for the children at 11 a.m., and the go-kart races will start at 2 p.m. Drivers in all divisions are expected to compete. Rawson said as many a 100 go-karts or more will be running Saturday.
This is the fifth season for the Causeyville Raceway, The points races will get underway April 17, and the track will be opened every other weekend until the season ends Nov. 6. When the season gets underway, the gates will open at 4 p.m.
While there is competition on the track, Rawson said this is a family-oriented business and no alcohol is permitted. Rawson advised everyone coming to the race to bring a lawn chair because seating in the bleachers is very limited.
The points champions from last season include Alex Walton in the Purple Division; Ray Walton in the Blue Division; Jeffrey Maxwell in the Gold Division; Mike Palmiter in both the Stock Medium and Stock Lite divisions; Scott Litchfield in the Stock Heavy Division; and Clint McComb in the Outlaw Class.
