Meridian man
charged in shooting

A Meridian man was charged Saturday with manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of Alonzo Boyd Jr. at a 1418 29th Ave. home on Thursday.
Jimmy D. Grace, 36, was initially arrested the night of the shooting. Grace remained in the Lauderdale County jail after being charged; no bond was set.
Meridian Police are still investigating the shooting. Assistant Police Chief Keith McCary said he hoped to to have more details by Monday.
