West Lauderdale remained perfect with its sixth victory on Thursday, a 5-0 prep baseball win over Forest.
Bo Davis pitched a complete game for the Knights, giving up two hits and striking out four. Davis was also West Lauderdale's only batter with multiple hits, tallying a home run and single with two RBIs.
Dave Woods blasted another home run for the Knights, and Tyler Vick and Parker Temple each recorded singles.

Meridian 13
Choctaw Central 0
Meridian High School used an eight-run seventh inning to outpace Choctaw Central on Thursday, shutting out the Lady Warriors for a 13-0 prep softball win.
Brandi Limerick, who allowed just two hits, picked up the win for Meridian, now 3-2. Limerick's record also improved to 3-2.
Artesian Boyd led the Lady Wildcats with two doubles. Ebonee Ball had a double and a single, and Tiffany Hickman recorded two singles.
Meridian plays Newton County today.

Carthage 1
Union High School opened its season in a big way on Thursday, running away from Carthage 12-1 in four and a half innings.
Lindsay Walker held Carthage to three hits and is 1-0 after the win.
Lauren Kennedy led the Lady Yellowjackets with four RBIs on a home run and a single. Deeann Cleveland hit a two-RBI single for Union, and Morgan Milling hit a triple.
The Lady Yellowjackets play again Saturday at Neshoba Central.

Forest 2
Newton County swept both doubles matches on Thursday to edge Forest 3-2 in prep tennis.
Kennard Johnson won the boys' singles match for Newton County with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Justin Hurdle. Forest's Katie Sahler took the girls' singles match with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 win against Kalen Anderson.
The combo of Noah Cook and Devarus Walker took a 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 boys' doubles win from Newton County versus Matt Wade and Joseph Cieglo. Newton County's Lauren McDonald and Dru Anderson beat Molly Cieglo and Megan Harrell of Forest with a 6-1, 6-3 match.
In the mixed doubles match, Forest's Wade Brown and Rebecca Myers beat Josh Cook and Maggie McDill of Newton County 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
