A preliminary autopsy report on Herbert Andy Jenkins indicates he died of natural causes, Detective Dean Harper of the Meridian Police Department said Friday.
Jenkins, 60, of Chunky, was found dead Wednesday behind the Sack and Save grocery store at North Frontage Road and 18th Avenue. Jenkins was found by a transient in a wooded area Wednesday morning.
Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler said Friday that the preliminary autopsy report ruled out hypothermia and indicated Jenkins died of heart disease.
Cobler said Jenkins was reportedly last seen on Tuesday at about 3 p.m. and that although his driver's license listed a Meridian address, his home was in Chunky.
