For most college football fans at least the ones who root for a team other than Oklahoma or LSU the Bowl Championship Series ratings leave much to be desired. Some years, like this one, there is no clear national champion and newspapers like The Chippewa Herald, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., say there is a need for a real college football playoff:
